A Minimoon In Provence

The Path To Bédoin, Provence

Over the weekend I wasn’t out hiking or taking photos of any kind. Instead I was busy getting married in the UK! This is a shot of my wonderful wife taken a couple of days ago as we walked through the Provençal countryside on our “minimoon”.

After returning to Geneva on Sunday we drove down to the small village of Crillon Le Brave in the foothills of Mont Ventoux. It was the perfect spot to unwind and relax for a few days after everything that went into the wedding.

We followed this small path for about an hour before reaching the small town of Bédoin, taking in the beautiful views as we went. I originally shot this scene in landscape, but decided to crop as portrait to remove some distracting elements.

Congratulations to you both! I wish you many happy travelling years together. That path looks a little rough for those shoes your wife is wearing Ben – I hope her ankles survived the mini-trek!

Thanks Jude! Haha, yeah she was fine thanks. Actually this was probably the roughest spot of the path, so it wasn’t too bad at all. I was wearing equally inadequate footwear!

Haha, I’m not quite there yet. Although there is something that sounds masochistically enticing about that!

Thanks Stacy! 🙂 Your comment has reminded me that I need to get back onto the before and after posts too. I have been slacking a bit recently!

Congratulations! Hope you had a fabulous day and wishing lots of many happy years together (we did the minimoon thing in Cornwall after getting married last year too, such a good idea to get over the wedding stress!)

Thanks Lucy, we had a great day although it was a little more stressful than I was expecting! I remember your posts from Cornwall, and agree you definitely need a few days after the wedding to relax. After such a long time looking forward to the day it’s a bit odd once it’s over!

Congratulations Ben on your marriage. Provence – such a great choice its so full of delights. Lovely portrait and I’m sure full of happy memories on your minimoon. Funnily I hadn’t heard that term before and I just realised it was a shorter honeymoon. At first I thought you were taking a picture of the moon somehow lol 🙂

Thanks Kaz! It’s such a beautiful part of the world, and we still have so much more to explore on future visits. Haha, yeah I’m not sure where the term minimoon comes from. I think it’s a relatively new expression but I could be wrong! No moon pictures here 🙂 Not yet anyway!
